Task: You are to prepare an oral presentation (e.g. PowerPoint/role-play) to explain to your classmates the causes, consequences and solutions for one if the following environmental problems listed below.
1. Deforestation (Unit 20) 2. Land Pollution (Unit 27) 3. Water Pollution (Unit 28) 4. Air Pollution (Unit 29) 5. Global Warming (Unit 31)
In your presentation, you must include relevant case studies of countries which are combating the environment problem. Please use the textbook as the focus when preparing for the presentation
OR
You are to prepare an oral presentation (e.g. PowerPoint/role-play) to look into the ways Singapore is able to overcome land constraints focusing on 'land reclamation' and maximizing existing land'. (Units 21 and 22)
OR
You are to prepare an oral presentation (e.g. PowerPoint/role-play) to educate your classmates on the various ways of 'Increasing Water Supply' (Unit 25). In your presentation, you must include relevant case studies of countries that had successfully increased their water supply using methods that you had discuseed.
You are also required to elaborate on one international water agreement that had transpired as a result of having many different countries sharing one main river, i.e. the river flows through several countries beofre reaching the sea or lake, for example, River Nile.
OR
You are to prepare an oral presentation (e.g. PowerPoint/role-play) to educate your classmates on how Singapore had successfully managed her water resources, 'Water Supply in Singapore' (Unti 26).
In your presentation, you must illustrate why Singapore faces water constraints and her efforts to overcome this problem.
You are also required to elaborate on the water agreements that Singapore has with Malaysia.
For all, please note: 1. For all groups doing a PowerPoint Presentation, please print out a hard copy of your slides before your presentation (choose the most informative 10 slides for grading). 2. For groups who are doing role-play, plese print out your scripts for grading. 3. Please ensure that you presentation is relevant to the topic. Your classmates should have a good idea of the unit after the presentation. 4. For groups that are not presenting on that day please read the unit before lesson and ask the presenting group questions. Bonus marks will be given.
